The Safe Way to Cleaning the Lawn Mower

By:David de Souza

It is quite true that lawn mowers are designed to sustain the toughest of conditions and the roughest of treatment. However, it does not mean that you should be the one to expose it to rough handling and tough conditions. This is because of the fact that despite the fact laws are designed to be as corruption-proof as possible, it does not mean that people should elect bad leaders. In this case, you do need to treat your lawn mower very well if you want it to stay for along time without major repairs and maintenance, or without having to regularly spending money on buying broken and rusted parts.

The good thing however, is that cleaning the whole thing does not constitute a lot of work. The only thing that you need to pay great attention to is your safety while doing so; and this is what we need to look at today.

The first step towards cleaning the mower involves the process of covering the filter. This is done to ensure that the water that you will be using to clean the mower does not in any way get to the inside of the engine because if it does, you are likely to have your engine damaged forever.

The next step involves the cleaning of the underside of the lawnmower, and this is usually the most difficult stage. This is because a lot of the things that you are supposed to clean are not as accessible to you as you would wish them to be. However, you would have done a great job if at all you removed the dried grass that usually finds itself trapped on the underside. Apart from causing the blades to act blunt, they can easily cause some jam on the rotating parts.

After you have removed the grass underneath the lawnmower, the next task involves cleaning it with water. Use a heavy pipe that has a lot of pressure to clean the pipe. This helps to remove the dirt that might be sticking on the lawnmower and which cannot be removed by low-pressure jets. After you have cleaned it and you are satisfied with the result, it is now time to rinse it and then let it to dry.

The cleaning process as mentioned is not something that should actually cause you some sleepless nights. Instead, it is something that should give you joy since it enables you take part in the care and maintenance of a very great asset.
